Floral Accents to Consider for Your Big Day

Custom Florals, Lancaster Pa

When it comes to wedding flowers, the options can seem overwhelming. Do your bridesmaid bouquets need to match yours? Do you want to add flowers for an arch or arbor at your venue? What if your ceremony and reception aren't in the same location?

Stop, and breathe... We are here to help you answer all of those questions and more. My name is Heather Heagy and I've been a florist helping brides for 30 years. Before you decide on your flowers it's important to consider a few things first.

  1. What time of year is your wedding? If you want seasonal flowers, you'll need to keep this in mind.
  2. What are your wedding colors and theme?
  3. Where will your wedding and reception be held?
  4. Does your venue have any special architectural details, a grand staircase or sitting area that you'd like to decorate?
  5. What is your floral budget?

As you work through this list, you'll have a better idea of what you want and need when it comes to your wedding flowers. I encourage you to imagine your venue and picture what it might look like with your colors, flowers and décor. Below is a list of floral options to think about for your big day. Some are must-haves like your bridal bouquet, and others are "extras" you might not have considered before.
